Proposals for a new motorway service station on the new A1(M) near Catterick have been submitted for public consultation in June 2019.
Located east of junction 52 on the new A1(M), the development would be built in the former quarry at Pallett Hill Farm with Catterick Race course as its backdrop.
JCA were appointed to provide architectural services to Lead Architect PPL Ltd for this planning application.
The design for both the proposed buildings and extensive landscaping has been carefully considered to enhance its surroundings whilst minimising the impact on the environment and local neighbourhood.
The challenge for the design team on a proposal such as this was to ensure the architecture of the proposed development sat harmoniously within the context of its rural setting with a seamless blend of materials and soft landscaping to reflect the local vernacular for the region of Richmondshire.
